Kate Taylor

Kate has been practising Pilates for 17 years and first discovered Pilates after developing chronic shoulder tension and pain when training as a nurse. Looking for some relief, Kate tried different therapies and treatment options which led her to an osteopath who advised she was hypermobile and needed Pilates for the rest of her!.

Initially, Kate was very skeptical and didn’t really feel any different, then after five or six sessions, something clicked. As she walked home, she felt taller, more at ease, almost like she was floating on air, and that was the beginning of Kate’s love affair with Pilates.

Over the years, Pilates has helped Kate keep her chronic pain under control; it has supported her through two pregnancies and births, house moves, career changes, running a marathon, and all of life’s ups and downs. No matter what her body needs, Pilates has something to offer.

Training as a teacher has deepened Kate’s understanding of and love for Pilates. It continues to provide better pain relief than anything else she has tried, but it has also given her friendships, a greater sense of self, and tools that she uses daily to calm both her body and her mind.

As a teacher, Kate cannot do the work for you, yet she is there every step of the way to guide and support you, no matter what your body needs. Kate loves helping people find joy in movement and always aims to make her sessions calm, fun, and respectful.
