We are delighted to offer Myofascia Release at Chapel Allerton Pilates with Christa Chiyesu
Myofascial release is a type of physical therapy often used to treat myofascial pain syndrome or those with chronic or persistent pain. Myofascial pain syndrome is a chronic pain disorder caused by sensitivity and tightness in your myofascial tissues. These tissues surround and support the muscles throughout your body.
Myofascial release reduces pain by easing the tension and tightness in the trigger points but is often used over a broad area of muscle and tissue rather than at single points.
Is Myofascia Release right for me?
Myofascia release is a brilliant option for people with persistent or chronic pain or muscle tightness (more than 3 months).
What’s involved in Myofascial Release?
Myofascia release is a gentle yet deep form of massage. Its effect is in the slow delivery, therefore, giving your myofascia a chance to unwind and restore normal tension and normal function to the muscles or systems affected by that part of the fascia.
‘Myo’ means muscle, and ‘fascia’ refers to the network f connective tissue that wraps around muscles and runs through them and through ligaments, tendons, nerves, blood vessels, and our organs. So it is everywhere in the body, connecting one part to the other. This makes myofascial release powerful in tackling chronic muscle tightness or pain.
First Myofascial Session
Your first treatment will include a posture assessment. At the end of the treatment, you will be given advice including how to take care of the fascia daily yourself. This includes some stretches that are tailored to you, and you will try them first in the clinic to see if they are suitable to you
Investment
A 55-minute Myofascial session costs £65.
Payment can be made in cash or by card.
If you have a cash plan/hospital fund plan Christa can provide a receipt for you to claim back some of the money. This applies to both treatments.
